Summer

Wow, it's been forever since I last posted. In March my world got turned upside down, my Dad got diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, it's been something the family and I have been adjusting too. He has had back surgery, chemo, and now is on radiation. He has been strong though this whole thing.

This summer has flown by! In June, I spent my time laying out by the pool and working at McBeth. At the end of June Matthew, Pam, Michael, and myself went on a cruise, to St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, and Haiti. It was a blast! We were worried that rain would hit us the whole time but it was sunny the whole time! I got to play soccer on the ship, rock climb, dance, snorkel, and participate in different games. It was so hard coming back to reality! The below picture is of Matt and I on the beach in Haiti.
After about a week and a half of getting back from the cruise Mom and I went to Pennsylvania to see Grandma and extended family. Pennsylvania is made for my tomboy side, while the cruise was made for my girlie side! I got to go 4-wheeling, rock climbing, go camping, and over all just be outdoors. Mom, Grandma, and I went down to the family farm where we got to spend time with Grandpa's side of the family, and had other various meals with family members at cute mom/pop places. Mom, Grandma, and I were obsessed with building puzzles the whole week. I love going there and can't wait to go back!

The other big event of the summer was kickball. I got a group of friends together and we played other teams through the Austin Sports and Social League. It was a great time drinking, being active, and just bonding with friends. I hope to get on another team too.
Matthew has also been super busy this summer. Besides the cruise he has been super busy with work. He has been pulling more hours than usual and even going in at 4:30am and staying till 4-5pm!!! Matthew has made time to go golfing on Wednesday nights and practice with his band two nights a week.

Now it's time to get back to school and get ready for another year with my new kids.

Pam's Birthday
My nephew, Kyle

It's been a few months since I last wrote and thought it was time for an update. Matthew and I are staying very busy, as usual. In January, we went to San Antonio to celebrate Pam's Birthday. Then later in the month our friends, the Stones, came to visit us for the weekend. Late January, Matthew went to College Station to do some recruiting for work. For Valentine's Matthew made a very nice lunch and then we exchanged gifts. That night I left him (sorry, Matthew) and drove to College Station to visit my parents. Last Tuesday, we got a tiny bit of snow but it was a nice change in the weather. Even though I wish we had enough so I could build a snowman or have a snow ball fight, I can't complain. When I said I wanted snow for Christmas I was specific on how much (even though it's two months late..haha).

Christmas Day

At the Driskill for brunch

Dad and Mom

Dad's favorite Christmas pose...cheeeese!

What Would Batman Do? I don't know Sean.

Yipppeee a GPS, now I don't have to borrow Matt's anymore.

Matt got a Wii!!!!

Mom got a Wii too! Can you tell she is a little excited!?

My family drove into Austin Christmas morning. We ate brunch at the Driskill, it was delicious! Then we came back home and opened gifts, everyone got what they wanted for Christmas. After dinner, Matthew set up the Wii. We all got really into the game! It was a wonderful Christmas, spent with all the different families. The one event I didn't put up pictures was St. Nick's with the Tillemans (Matt's dad's side of the family).

Christmas Eve with the Cearlocks

Lexi, Pam, and Kyle

Kyle sitting in Grandpa's chair with his cowboy boots.

Alright, just what I wanted!

Don't I look gorgeous? My daughter, Amanda put it in a ponytail and then added a green bow from a present.

Kyle trying out his helmet and goggles from his Black and Decker tool set.

Matt with his Ozzfest in Blu-Ray.

After opening gifts with the Banks and Sue, we head over the Cearlocks. This year there was about 17 people there, it's nice to catch up with everyone, some people we only see once a year.

Christmas- Banks and Sue

Yeah, a new CD! I can't wait till I listen to it.

A New Wii Game!!!!

Oooooo, the magical head massager thingy. Everyone was trying it by the end of the day.

I'm so excited, I could scream!!! The Biggest Loser Cookbook!!!!

My new awesome smart scale...very scientific.

Kyle, my nephew, is as tall as the pile of presents.

Hanging out with Lexi, my niece.

Matthew and I have lots of mini-Christmases. This one is with his mom (Sue), sister (Pam) and her husband (Michael) along with their two kids (Kyle and Lexi). Kyle was really into passing out the gifts and helping everyone open them.
